September Update

Hello everyone!

The last month or so has been a hard time for both myself and Nerton. That said, I now have a good first draft of Day 3 (technically, splitting the game up by days starts to break down at this point). This includes the first murder scenes and also several scenes of the Arran.

Nerton is of course doing everything he can, but his personal circumstances are making everyday life difficult. That said, we have been discussing not only some new BGs, but also CGs. Establishing the circumstances of major events like a character being murdered has always been a major roadblock because if *I* don't quite know how a character will die, how would my artist?

Rest assured, I am doing my best to work on the project amidst my own work-life balance issues. Now me and Nerton have established a list of required BGs, we've been operating on the idea of producing a lot of sketches for all the backgrounds, so I can write and program in RenPy with representative sketches and later, once I've gotten more of the script  done, I can pay the additional cost to turn these sketches into full rendered backgrounds!

I mentioned in earlier updates that Day 3 would also be where the game "opens up" and where a lot of choices would start. I've been forced to pare that down, keeping to my earlier promise of writing a singular story first. I thought I could write choices and have them be just "there" until I could expand on them but this turned out to be too difficult. So now I am ignoring all choices and decision, focusing exclusively on the story I wan to tell at least as far as my target ending is concerned.

I regret deeply that I don't have any new assets to present right now, but anything you provide is making it quicker and easier to create the backgrounds and scenes I require! Anything you can provide, even if you can only do so temporarily, is much appreciated, and thank you deeply for those of you who cannot continue to provide right now, I want to assure you that if you have cotributed, you will be given the credit you deserve!

Also, in September, I turned 36! I can no longer call myself "Early thirties" with a straight face lmao.
