2022-10-04 17:49:52 +0000 UTCI think it's different because the technological leap from 8-bit to 16-bit was a huge step forward. As technology has increasingly advanced, the "crazy leap forward" trend slows down. HZD both the PS4 version and the PC version, still look incredible. Sure, they can look better, and like with TLOU getting a remake if they add in quality-of-life improvements (especially learned from other work), that's a positive as well. I think given that the improvements in today's landscape when remaking a PS4/Xbox One gen title to PS5/Xbox Series tend to be slight, people would just prefer studios to spend their time, money, and manpower on something new. Or, hell, let's get crazy and remake one of those NES or SNES games all the way to a next-gen experience.

2022-10-03 23:17:16 +0000 UTCWas I the only one baffled by the mental gymnastics of logic during story 1, especially from the community/chats? Did people whine and bitch and moan in 1993 when an NES game came out again but on the SNES with improved 16-bit graphics? Personally, I think there are zero reasons to complain about any game getting made yet again other than pettiness, privilege, and/or outrage culture.
