PROLETKULT 9 - The People's Beetlejuice w/ the LitCrit Guy

Happy Mischief Night! Andy is joined by Jon the Lit Crit Guy to discuss Tim Burton's 1988 horror comedy BEETLEJUICE, well known for its titular imp and goth heroine, but far less for its themes of afterlife bureaucracy, rapacious capitalism, rural gentrification, and class conflict.

We once again mentioned this Maggie Mae Fish video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inXrIYr2V_U

Music:
Danny Elfman - Beetlejuice Main Titles
Harry Belafonte - Day-O
Giorgio Moroder - Racer

There's a reason white flight suburban parents raising kids in the 90s loved this movie. Tim Burton really is like a stain on the goth subculture, I don't like it :(
