Great episode, going to put this book in my list! Totally unrelated but Sean there’s no /r/ in Madonna, which Madone is short for. Although there are dialect words that turn the trill r into a d, this isn’t one of them.

2021-03-24 16:33:14 +0000 UTCI'm not quite finished with the interview, so maybe you circle back, but I found it weird that teachers and nurses were discussed in a separate segment from jobs considered to be a "public service". At least here, in Canada, every time a wage increase is debated for either profession the argument always goes back to how they should accept lower wages because knowing they're doing a service to society is somehow a part of the compensation. Something that weirdly enough never gets said for police or doctors.
