Hey Greg. I’m going to try to be careful with the way I word this, because I fully believe in your and KF’s authenticity and credibility. That being said, it seems like you and many other outlets give a lot of benefit of the doubt to game devs when it comes to reviews. You (general you) will point out tech/performance issues, but often mention that since you’re told a patch will be coming, you don’t factor those issues as heavily into scores. However, it seems lately Day 1 patches aren’t fixing all they’re supposed to, and many people feel like they’re receiving a product with a lower score than the reviews they’re reading. So the crux of my question is, do you think that some publishers are exploiting your benefit of the doubt for the devs, and do you see that starting to become a larger issue in the industry? If so, how do you think reviewers can try to mitigate this issue on their end?

2023-05-05 20:06:53 +0000 UTCSo basically jedi survivor is a game that cant reach 60 frames on any machine, does not support basic options like HDR changing Pc settings does not affect performance at all but Greg gave it a 5. I know why you did it because you focused on the vision more than you did on the performace. But isn't the technical execution of a project supposed to factor into its evaluation?

2023-05-05 20:02:52 +0000 UTCThe current situation with Survivor and Redfall had me thinking: Are reviewers supposed to rate a game based on the version they played for review? Why did IGN give jedi survivor a 9 why did you give it a 5. Those scores contradict my current experience with the game (rage quiting on the second planet because of alwuf performance) I guess my question really is: what are you supposed to score the product you see infront of you or the product you know it might become after some things get ironed out?
