Not to brag that guy (but I am), but Andy is wrong about Trieste = Fiume. Fiume is Rijeka in Croatia today (both names mean River). Sorry about that, but Rijeka/Fiume is my favorite city in Croatia. 😉

Just looked this dude up. A major anti-Bolshevik jurist

At first I felt envious of people who lived in a city where one could get invites to trendy parties due to an interest in Hegel. Then I was like wtf lol. I hope the drugs were good at least. Is it too conspiratorial to wonder if Thiel money is behind this?

Russian Orthodox Hegelianism is probably derived from Ivan Ilyin- a Russian right Hegelian and white exile. He’s considered one of the intellectual godfathers of Eurasianism- definitely falling into the late “Revolutionary Conservative” milieu. He also went through a psychoanalytic phase and was a prolific writer (mostly in Russian and German.) Very MAGA Com. Very NazBol. It smells of recycled Duginism. Re "wtf do they mean by concreteness:" Legend has it that Ilyin was arrested by the Cheka (on the orders of Iron Felix) for publishing a book on Hegel "The Philosophy of Hegel as a Doctrine of the Concreteness of God and Humanity." His basic concerns, as far as my limited knowledge goes, was the development of what he referred to as "legal consciousness"- specifically the idea that a nation or people develops of belonging to a national hierarchy. This may be coincidental, it may not, but weird all the same. No wonder leftists are confused by this- I don't think anyone reads Ilyin outside of Russia.

I really appreciated the book recs toward the end. As sort of an autodidact trying to learn this stuff, it's helpful to hear deeper critiques besides "they're fascist", and to get actually good resources. Like, "ok you want to learn this stuff? Here you go! This is the real shit"

I am a vulgar workerist now
