Hello dear friends and supporters,

Hope the early autumn is treating you nice! Another month is permanently in the past and Priest is entering a phase of change..

But first we have to explain the release of Carol of the Bells. We of course presumed that it would be released around Christmas, but found out that it was set for release on September 26, only 4 days before. Why Cleopatra Records have chosen to do so we do not know.. The result is that we could not pitch the song to editorial playlists or work with PR in advance- Nevertheless, we’re very happy with the unironically positive response of it! Feel free to add it into your, your friends and family’s upcoming gothic holiday playlists🖤⚡️

It’s funny with songs. You write them and record them - and when they’re recorded and mastered, it will take at least 6 more months until its release. Vinyls takes approximately 3 months to press and then it takes around 11 weeks, at the moment, to ship everything worldwide. That means that you often start writing new songs and probably will be in that creative process when the brand new album drops. But for the creator the songs can be old and you’re in the middle of writing fresh material, which is much more exciting, but if the old songs are well done, they will feed you energy and you’ll feel the pleasure of performing them. It’s like a parallel process - you work on two levels at the same time with your project, planning stuff that’s gonna be revealed over one year from now, while performing the end legs of era 3 at the same time.

That’s exactly where we are right now - in the beginning of the end of something, but at the same time watching a familiar embryo take shape into new, exciting forms. Of course, patrons will be the first to know when there’s something new to show!
