My dog has really bad separation anxiety! Typically a combo of 1) relaxing music, 2) associating treats with you leaving (positive with a negative) and 3) giving him something to occupy him in the kennel like a kong or a lick mat! Good luck!

2024-06-05 02:00:54 +0000 UTCA good thing to help his separation anxiety grab a snack bring him to his kennel and try dog calming music works for my in-laws dog she'll bark a couple times but usually chills out a couple minutes after you leave the house. But every dog is weird I've had 6 dogs of my own through my life and none of them even cared we left

2024-06-04 01:52:14 +0000 UTCThanks for the answer Greg! For what it’s worth, our dog, Remy, also has some separation anxiety. He’s gotten better though! We focused on desensitizing him to our leaving cues (grabbing keys, putting on shoes, putting on jacket). We just did those things in front of him a whole bunch of times without actually leaving. He whines now but doesn’t freak out like he used to!
