Straw Poll: Early Release Logistics
Added 2014-07-20 21:01:59 +0000 UTCHey all, quick question for you about how you get your Early Release episodes. I know a good number of you are subscribed to the feed that I created (getting the episodes automatically), but how many of you rely on updates to the Patreon page itself to find out about newer episodes?Currently, early release episodes go up on the secret blog I created for it, and I also put them on this page, which (I think) sends you email updates. This means you discover early episodes either through your inbox or your podcast app of choice. The downside of this is that all of our content is left undiscoverable on Patreon unless you're a $3+ backer.I'm considering a way to handle things where new episodes are added to the Patreon page publicly on the day of their public release, and I just intermittently send out reminders to early release backers with information about where they can subscribe to the early feed. This gets more of our content out there on Patreon, potentially attracting more listeners. What would treat you best? I want to make sure I'm not sacrificing your good experience with this perk for more discoverability. Let me know what you think in the comments below. - KR

2014-07-21 23:15:33 +0000 UTCI get all the shows I listen to via Pocket Casts on android and as such get new episodes via the early release feed as and when they become available. While I'm perhaps not directly answering your question I'd quite happily forgo the early release if it meant you getting seen more!

2014-07-21 01:44:52 +0000 UTCI use the early release podcast feed to find out about new episodes. I think moving the podcast posts to the public page is a good idea since a lot of the blog posts can get lost in all the podcast emails.

2014-07-20 23:26:52 +0000 UTCI also use my podcatcher. Really the Duckfeed RSS feed is the best thing, the early access portion is just a nice cherry on top.

2014-07-20 23:12:53 +0000 UTCI typically listen to them on the itunes early release feed, unless it's the weekend. Then I just follow an email link.

2014-07-20 22:36:37 +0000 UTCI just tend to rely on my podcatcher to remind me of new episodes so it wouldn't be a problem for me.
