With the building calls for "Superman", throughout the trailer, my guess is this story is about how overwhelming it is to be Superman. How stretched thin this one man is, and how he may eventually need to rely on other heroes to carry the load. It could answer the question, "Why do you need another hero if you have a Superman?". The world is too big and too complicated for one man, even Superman.
