Scheduling Update!

Just wanted to let you all know that weβre making some adjustments to our recording schedule starting Monday and going forward -- In Review, KF Podcast, and Screencast will all now record publicly on Twitch and YT following Gamescast with streams after that.
We considered a variety of factors while making this decision -- this will work better for the production team, alleviate a significant amount of post-production difficulties, and standardize our KF Membership offering as much as possible no matter which platform you choose to support us on.
I know that a lot of membership renewals happen on the first and wanted to make sure that you all had a heads up in case you wanted to make any adjustments.

So is there any difference between the $10 and $25 dollar tier now? Is it just the happy hours?

Compared to other shows I support on patreon, $10 is a lot for what is essentially now just ad free and Gregways. If they lower the price to just $5 or at least give something more for $10 that others won't get for free then I'll come back. But as others pointed on, I can just hit skip a bunch during ads and get the same content.

Ads pay the bills, so having the podcasts recorded as part of the 'live' content gets more viewers than Patreon exclusive viewers. I'm all for changes that helps the whole team from a production perspective. With me and my timezone, it means that I'm even less likely to catch live streams, but I get that's my use case. When it comes to Patreon Perks, having 'early access' to ad free shows was a huge bonus. Now that's not the case and the ad sections of podcasts have become so long, but that's the nature of the beast I guess. Maybe it's a good idea to have a video explaining the revised benefits of KF Membership to clear up any confusion. Saying all of this with nothing but love πβ¨

2025-02-28 23:28:30 +0000 UTCI don't agree with this set up but I'm not fighting against it. Feels like a part of the community that I love is dying from here. Felt bad when the post shows died, felt bad when the live recordings for psily and xcast when those shows got shelved, feels bad when the live recordings for gamescast went away, and now feels bad that these shows live recordings went away. Having the smaller chats was nice and I made a lot of great friends through them. Being in the youtube/twitch chats is not the same. Felt like there was more of a connection with the hosts in the smaller chats and now just feels like we need to pay money anytime we want to be heard (I know there's still interactions with non super chats, but it is what it is) I hope nothing but the best for Kinda Funny going forward, and hope this decision is the right one for you all.

2025-02-28 23:13:14 +0000 UTCCould this warrant a lower membership tier? I can tolerate ads on in review/KFP etc, so $10 for just Gregway is a tad steep, personally (unless I'm forgetting something). Even a $5-7 tier would alleviate some of that
