WOFF! Poll: Special Episode
Added 2017-02-06 18:31:01 +0000 UTCHi! It's time for another one of our Patented WOFF! Poll-em-Ups. This time we're throwing you a bit of a curve ball: We want you to pick the topic for this year's special survey course episode.
What's that? Think back to our episodes about video game hardware, interactive fiction, or game books. We have three options that are in that vein, and here they are:
- Creation Software: Think of stuff like Mario Paint, MTV Music Generator, even things as recent as Mario Maker. This episode would cover the history of games that let you make things.
- Nintendo Power: This episode would cover the history of Nintendo's official magazine, and concurrently cover other notable publications from around the same time (I'm looking at you, EGM and GamePro).
- Pinball: We're on the record as not quite "getting" pinball, but if this wins we will bone up, go to some local arcades, and present the best history of Pinball we can.
This poll will end on Friday, February 17 right before midnight EST. We're attempting to use Patreon's built-in poll feature, so you can cast your vote right in this post.

I also never quite got Pinball, and would love your take on it. Like, I already pretty much know how I feel about the other two topics, but Pinball would be really interesting because I feel like there's a lot of depth I just can't see.

2017-02-10 12:25:29 +0000 UTCI think maybe Creation Software or Pinball would be more inclusive for international listeners... I never saw an issue of Nintendo Power or EGM. Outside of America, I don't think anyone got those. But if it can be done in an insightful way (and distinct from Retronauts' coverage of the same topic), then jolly good.

2017-02-07 00:35:34 +0000 UTCI would love Pinball, but that would be alot of effort episode as there aren't many places to get a true feel for the artistry of the cabinets. Fortunately, we have an excellent pinball place in Nashville. I don't know about the Cincy scene though. The only place I know if in Ohio is actually Cedar Point.
