Can you hear the drums? We're gearing up for a console war.
For episode 175 of WOFF!, we want to go back a ways and cover a noteworthy 16-bit game. But we want your help picking which one, and we've pitted the Super Nintendo and the Sega Genesis against each other.
The winner of this poll by votes will be the subject of our 175th episode, which comes out in November. Here are your options.
- ActRaiser (SNES). It's Quintet's first game, combining platform-based dungeon diving and god game sim elements.
- Super Castlevania IV (SNES). A Mode7 tech demo with a weird whip, and a marked departure for Konami's action horror staple.
- Gunstar Heroes (Genesis). Treasure's hectic, boss-filled platformer.
- Ristar (Genesis). A less well-known Sonic Team game whose grabby protagonist makes for unique fights and platforming.

They played ActRaiser on one of Giant Bombs recent streams, and I had never heard of it before. Apparently it's like, Castlevania crossed with Populus? It sounds super fascinating and I'd love to hear you guys talk about it!

2017-09-01 23:22:52 +0000 UTCI really wish Gunstar Heroes would win this. It's one of the most fun and inventive games of the era, but it looks that stuffy old Actraiser will win. Hope the result doesn't preclude GH from a future episode.

Mowing down henchman faster then Brock Samson in 1969 charger is the only way to go! Gunstar Heroes baby!
