Exciting Duckfeed Patreon Changes

Hi there. I'm happy to be able to share some news with you. A while back, we made an announcement about the future of Bonfireside Chat and Watch Out for Fireballs!. We also alluded to some changes that will come along for our Patreon campaign, and asked for your input in a survey that got over 800 responses.

Today, we're ready to share some specifics on what that looks like.

In the interest of giving people an opportunity to mull over their options, we're announcing the changes today but the majority of them will not take effect until July 1. The big exceptions are our updates to the Milestone Goals, and the release of an additional Exquisite Suffering for our $5 backers.

Without further ado, let's get into the specifics.

NEW MILESTONE GOALS

We're excited to announce that we've reconsidered what our Milestone Goals should be, and we think there's some great stuff here.

$5,250 per Month: Duckventure - Session 1
Gary, Kole, and some other folks from the Duckfeed hosts and community will do a one-off tabletop session and release it as a special episode for all to hear! Dungeon World, Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu… it’s all fair game as we take you into a world of fantasy and wonder.

$5,500 per Month: Heartbeat City
Cozy Snugglefield and a cadre of loving partners take your calls amid a smooth and sensuous bed of synthwave sounds, answering questions about love and live on a bi-weekly basis.

$6,000 per Month:  Jackbox Nights: Afterdark
Once a month, Gary and/or Kole will host weekend nights of Jackbox fun, spanning the whole catalog of Jackbox games. Participation preference will be given to patrons of a certain level, to be determined.

$6,250 per Month: Duckventure - Session 2
Oh my, it’s a second run of Duckventure, our tabletop special!

$6,750 per Month: Third Live Show
Gary and Kole will go to a third convention around the United States to do a live show and work a booth. Can’t guarantee we won’t be hung over, though.

$7,000 per Month: Duckventure - Session 3
Zounds, it’s a third run of Duckventure, our tabletop special!

$7,500 per Month: Unfilmable, a Lovecraft Media Show
Each month, Gary and Kole will choose a piece of media related to a Lovecraft story and talk about it at length. If you recall the specials we did during the Bloodborne season of Bonfireside Chat, you’ve got the speed.

$7,750 per Month: Duckventure - Session 4
By my stars and garters, it’s a fourth episode of Duckventure, our tabletop special!

$8,250 per Month: The Area Zone
A monthly audio series that takes a deep dive on gaming’s most special and game-changing areas. The Magitek Factory. The Innsmouth Escape. Giant World in Super Mario 3. Gary and Kole will talk for way too long about what makes them special… and indispensable.

$8,500 per Month: Duckventure - Session 5
You wouldn’t believe it if I told you... it’s a fifth episode of Duckventure, our tabletop special!

$9,000 per Month: Untitled Breaking Bad Project
Breaking Bad was a fantastic television show, and Gary and Kole have stuff to say about it. Every two weeks, we will talk about an episode of this legendary series.

$9,250 per Month: Duckventure - Session 6
Christ almighty, it’s a sixth episode of Duckventure, our tabletop special!

$10,000 per Month: Full Time Podcasters / Regular Duckventures
At this level, Gary and Kole can afford to podcast full time. As such, Duckventure tabletop episodes can come out at a regular clip.

REWARD TIERS

We're also shifting around the reward structure for the Patreon. It's very similar to the old one, but we've added some things and changed the prices of two early rewards.

$1 per Month: Extras and WOFF! Polls

• You will get the ability to participate in quarterly WOFF! game selection polls.
• Occasional Patreon extras.

$2 per Month: Digital Welcome Pack

• You will get the Duckfeed Patreon Welcome Pack, a massive archive of all of the Duckfeed theme songs, stingers, and miscellaneous audio files.

$5 per Month: Exquisite Suffering and Community Booster

• Two extra Abject Suffering episodes per month! And the ability to vote on which games we cover for them, chosen from our most popular submissions.
• Access to our community Slack channel (invitations go out over the weekend).
• Access to our Early Release feed, where you can hear episodes of most shows a week early (please check your welcome email for details on the feed).

$10 per Month: Premium Content and Discount

• Access to Adaptation Decay, our mostly monthly show about video game movies, books, television shows, and comics.
• A new episode of DUCKTRAX each quarter, a show about the making of  Duckfeed shows.
• Access to the complete catalog of DUCKTRAX.
• The ability to submit questions and prompts for DUCKTRAX.
• Store Discounts: You’ll get a 20% discount on all premium content in our store (duckfeed.tv/store), and a special discount price in our shirt and merch store (varies per product).
• Special thanks on episodes of Watch Out for Fireballs! We will thank 5 people per main episode of the show.

$25 per Month: Abject Suffering Selection and Goodies

• Abject Suffering Game Selection: You will get the ability to dictate a game for us to cover on Abject Suffering.
• Bi-Annual Goody Mailing: Stickers, buttons, postcards, tchotchkes, etc. A small collection of goods mailed to you in July and January as long as you’ve backed at this level for 3 months out of the previous 6.
• DuckZine: Inside this goody mailing, you’ll get a short zine of creative and critical writing, drawings, and all around ‘90s goodness related to and expanding upon Duckfeed esoterica.

$40 per Month: Golden Ticket

• At this level, you will be able to access ALL of the premium content we’ve ever released (through the Patreon audio stream). As of June 2017, this is a $60 value, and it will only get more valuable.

$45 per Month: Guest on Abject Suffering (Limit 3)

• Back at this level for 3 months, and you will be a guest on Abject Suffering, talking about a game of your choice. Guest episodes will happen once a quarter. Note: This show records on Monday nights, and we will work with you to schedule this in advance.

$50 per Month: Pick a WOFF! Game (Limit 2)

• Back at this level for 3 months, and you will be able to pick a game for us to cover on Watch Out for Fireballs! Note that we will ask you to provide a few options, and we reserve the right to veto extremely long RPGs.
• This comes with some limitations: We will ask that you provide a couple of options for us to choose from. We will ask that the game suggested not be extravagantly long. It will be a conversation to make sure things work out well.
• If you choose to remain at this tier, your next request will be dropped to the bottom of the list if new patrons pick up an empty slot.

$80 per Month: Dictate a WOFF! Month Theme (Limit 2)

• Back at this level for 3 months, and you can dictate the theme of month of WOFF! coverage (along with one game that we will cover during that month). Note that we reserve the right to veto extremely long RPGs. 
• See the bullet point above about limitations, we will work with you.

$125 per Month: Guest on WOFF! (Limit 2)

• Back at this level for 3 months, and you can dictate a game that we cover on WOFF!, and also guest on that particular episode of the show. Note that we reserve the right to veto extremely long RPGs, and that we generally record this show on Thursday nights or Saturday afternoons. We will work with you in advance to schedule the recording.

We've listened to your feedback and tried to reshape our Patreon campaign to best meet your demands in the post-Bonfireside Chat world. As I said above, all of these changes will go into full effect on July 1.
