Are you ready for some garbage!? Holy moly, this Adam Sandler movie about invading alien video game characters is just straight up gutter-leavin's. Its humor is outdated, the deliveries are halfhearted, and the visual effects are ugly and confusing. Thankfully, Peter Dinklage is in about 1/4 of the movie to brighten things up. Otherwise, this nostalgia bomb is a complete dud.

I also hate Adam Sandler but I gotta say 50 First Dates is oddly worth a watch.

I wonder how much chatter was going around at the time about Mitchell or Todd Rogers’ high scores prior to this film? I do know that on a lot of chat forums on Twin Galaxies, players would cite the unverifiability of the oldest scores, the double standards reserved for old guard record holders, and the conflicts of interest with officials as why they were leaving. Just a thought. ...I’m probably giving WAY too much credit to this film, to think that anything here was researched in any depth. This may just be be a coincidence for a narrative conceit to make Peter Dinklage’s Billy Mitchell proxy inferior to Adam Sandler (see “Adam Sandler always wins in his movies at everything”)
