Abject Suffrage: January 2019
Added 2019-01-12 00:23:50 +0000 UTCHappy New Year! Now take us to hell.
For anyone new to this: first, welcome! Second, we let you pick the topics for our premium episodes of Abject Suffering. The list of candidates is pulled randomly from our suggestion database. The top two vote-getters will get episodes about them in February.
Here's a list of the four contenders. You'll see that they are links to gameplay footage, so you can make an informed decision (should you choose to do so). You can then vote on the poll dingus below.
Without further ado:
- Austin Powers: Welcome to My Underground Lair (GBC)
- Tail of the Sun (PSX)
- Top Gun (NES)
- Werewolf: The Last Warrior (NES)
It's tough, right? Make your choice by January 18, and look for the episodes to hit Patreon in February. We also like it when people discuss the poll in the comments or elsewhere, and advocate for their favorites.
Have fun! Because we sure won't.

2019-01-15 07:22:20 +0000 UTCI’m mostly in it for the bad Austin Powers impersonations

2019-01-15 01:54:09 +0000 UTCI only played it for the first time maybe 2 years ago. It definitely aged like milk but it's just so it's own thing that I still love it.

2019-01-14 02:42:54 +0000 UTCI'm also in the Tail of the Sun fan club. It's probably aged like trash, but I definitely played, beat, and enjoyed it when it came out.

2019-01-13 22:27:49 +0000 UTCThanks! I try. The soundtrack for "Tail of Sun" is particularly assaulting.

2019-01-13 18:48:34 +0000 UTCMaybe I will find out how to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun, a question that has vexed me my whole life. I've done it, but never knew why or how.

2019-01-12 19:49:25 +0000 UTCOf the four, I’m most confused by how Tail of the Sun ever got funded and made. Having a hard time ignoring the comedic potential of the cash grab movie tie-ins, however. Especially Top Gun, an awful movie that nonetheless retains cultural relevance for reasons that likely have a lot to do with childlike ‘cowboys and Indians’ element in the American persona.

2019-01-12 12:08:58 +0000 UTCI legit love Tail of the Sun

2019-01-12 08:34:52 +0000 UTC"Aggressively bad" is such a hilarious and appropriate way to describe all four of these.

2019-01-12 05:53:59 +0000 UTCWow, I feel so important! Thanks for taking the time to link to the trailers. These all look pretty aggressively bad.
