Exquisite Suffering 71: Blasto

Phil Hartman was a hero of comedy. Referred to as "The Glue" on the set of SNL, his special skill was to hold his co-stars together and be whatever they needed in order to make the sketch work. Consummate and dependable supporting players are extremely rare, and he managed to lift everyone around him up in a way that's  admirable. Hartman's untimely death was absurdly tragic, and the fact that one of his last performances was in Blasto is depressing to the extreme.

So I listened to this episode at work and wanted to listen to another Abject Suffering so I picked one totally at random. Might as well have thrown a dart at a list of episodes. Ended up at The Senpai. An episode where Blasto is referenced early on and there is a discussion on Michael Richardson’s racist rant. Really strange coincidence. Didn’t expect to hear this much about Kramer saying the N word and weird shitty PS1 platformers today
