Duckfeed Presents: Gary Rants about Divinity Original Sin 2

It's just me this time, and I'm ramblin' for a good cause: getting you to check out a remarkable game. I also talk a little bit about degrees of engagement in genres in a way that comes off a bit more judgey than I want it to, but I assure you: there is a level of fiddly engagement that is too much for me in some genres too.

If you hover, it tells you if something is empty once you've checked it! I also can't comment on checking every container because I didn't do that.

I started that game and it was like "escape this sinking ship but first spend half an hour looting forty containers for four gold pieces at a time. One third of the boxes will not actually be containers but rather items that go to your inventory and weigh 50x as much as anything else. The alt button will highlight interactables, but only ones in direct sight of the camera so be sure to swivel 360 degrees in every room, also, even then there will be plenty of containers it doesnt highlight. It will helpfully (?) give a yellow border to corpses but wont distinguish between full or empty containers in any way."

...I tried. It didn’t work.πŸ˜‘

These are fun! β€œSolilo-Gary’s” are now becoming a favorite!

I finally started DoS1 last week, and everyone I've heard praise 2 as superior is really getting me excited. It's like discovering Baldur's Gate for the first time, and then being told about Baldur's Gate 2.

It's next level video game.

I'm so hyped for the tactics game they're doing.

Oh hey i just ordered this the other day, because you can play as a magic lizard and i’m always down for that. Glad to hear it’s such a mechanically crunchy game, the combat sounds really satisfying

Glad you got to check out DOS2! I'm on my second playthrough and I'm exposing my jrpg diehard friend to it through co-op. It's really something special, and like the best games, has a way of opening you up to a world of possibilities you didn't think were available. All turn based game devs should take a class at Larian before doing anything else.
