It's a good thing the blandest story in the series has one of the coolest and crunchiest build systems. Kole and Gary talk about FF5 all the way through generalities and world one. Join us next week for that whole bit with the cosmic bad guy transforming himself into a splinter to smuggle himself to a world we're pretty sure he can get to anyway.

Octopath totally fits the paradigm as FFV too. Kinda bland story with super fun and customizable crunchy job system.

It sounds like a lot of parts of that game are directly inspired by things here. EX: capturing monsters for one off attacks and mixing items to create special effects. It sounds like Octopath does it better (haven't played FFV), but it's interesting to see them go back to that well.
