Watch Out for Fireballs! 274: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (Premium)

The New Colossus is a very strange game. By our usual metrics, this sequel isn't as good as its predecessor. The levels are bad, and the difficulty tuning is way out of whack. Instead, what makes us love this game is its audacity, and how well it tells its story... sometimes even through play! Billy begins the game near death, having lost his leader and his ability to walk. But he still mounts up and puts together a resistance movement to take back America and begin the revolution against the Nazis, once and for all.

I don’t even remember the credit song because that hatchet action before it was so good.

that end credits song was a real unfortunate choice. It undercut the ending and I had to take off my headphones immediately when I played it the first time.

I forgot how bad the credits music was

While I haven't played the game, my affections are such that I think the original "We're not gonna take it" could actually work very well in the space the two of you described, and just sort of assumed this is one of the occasions where my tastes and yours guyseses' just don't line up quite right. Then I heard the few seconds you gave us at the end of the episode and was stunned at how badly someone can fuck up a song with a tone as easy to deliver as that. Great episode, keep up the good work.

Matt Bixler! Hello!

In the same way that Guile's theme goes with anything, I'd love to see that end credits cover mashed up with moments of emotional depth and weight. Slap the baby at the end of the "I have a dream" speech, please.
