The Santa Fe Dress

When I picked up Eco Life last month, the long dress in that pack looked about the right shape to me to try. OMG did this project get away from me and take on a life of its own. It started with just 4 swatches, because I only wanted the patterns, then I took a closer look at the solids and decided that I could do better. The first thing I changed from the duster to the dress version is the placement of the lace. On the Paranormal outfit, the lace is placed in broad strips around the widest part of the hips. I don't care how skinny you are, no woman wants to have lace there. So I moved it down to the knee and mirrored the placement on the ruffle. Then I looked over the rest of the women's clothes and noted some other really nice prints and recreated them and the original 4 prints in GIMP into tiling patterns. I developed a palette... There's more stuff coming folks, is what I'm saying.
