Halloween Reading: "The Tower" by Marghanita Laski

This year's Halloween is the short but chilling horror story "The Tower" by Marghanita Laski, first published in 1955.

A woman named Caroline is fascinated by a ruined tower near Florence, after having learned of its unfortunate inhabitants and their mysterious demise. So she goes to visit, and this story documents every agonizing step of a trip she never should have taken.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Listening at 3am in the absolute dark of my bedroom with black out curtains and electrical tape over every possible light source allowed for a fantastic degree of immersion and imagination, love these and thank you

It was very hard to find! I first encountered it in a compilation in college. The version I read was available to be “checked out” at the internet archive. https://archive.org/details/isbn_9780192142603

Do you have a PDF or a link to buy the short story? I've searched online with no luck. Thanks!
