Unfilmable 24: Bedtime Stories (Part 4)

"Angel Man" continues the story of Mr. Dimler and the otherworldly singer Scotty. "The Demotion" is about a desperately unhappy air traffic controller who gets a lot of people killed. "Squat" is all over the place. And finally, "Butter" is a legitimately horrifying tale of how kids from third world countries are exploited.
For at least the next two months, we're going back to talking about miscellaneous horror movies, starting with "Sorry to Bother You", a 2018 film by Boots Riley.

2021-02-26 13:46:47 +0000 UTCI assumed that the bridge Mr. Dimmer was on was over the LA River, so we don't hear a splash because there was nothing to splash into...now I don't know why I assume that, but I did.

2021-02-25 07:05:24 +0000 UTCI like how you were both stuck on the fact that the butter girls didn't call the police, since I assumed that was part of the horror of it all. The idea that they know, intuitively, that there's nothing they can do because of the contract and don't even think for a moment about getting the authorities involved implies a slightly darker world than the one we're living in. It's like Show Don't Tell except you also don't show? I'm not sure where I'm going with this, it's just spooky, economical worldbuilding.
