That was the theory behind releasing Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring in the U.S. It was a bad 3D arcade fighter, so they decided to sweeten the pot with characters from Final Fantasy VII, and they added a weird dungeon crawling mode. It wasn't enough.

Weirdly the beach games were the most-played part of Ehrgeiz for my brother and I. There's also that strange Othello-like game with the fighting mechanics?

2021-01-19 07:14:23 +0000 UTCwow i can't believe Kole Ross, official anime editor of duckfeed, would get something so categorical wrong but it's not anime girls PLAYING the axis powers, it's the axis powers ANTHROPOMORPHIZED into cute anime BOYS so please get your facts straight when discussing the anime primarily responsible for bringing NAZI COSPLAY back into vogue at anime cons for a decade (before the rest of US society realized you really didn't get in much trouble for dressing like a nazi any way :) ) also italy-kun is portrayed as a moron who can only yell "PAAAASTA!" and obey Germany :) ergheiz, like tobal no. 1 before it, holds a special place in my heart as those Weird Dungeon Crawlers me and my buddy played when we were 15, poor, and games like Ergheiz cost $5 at EB Games. it was our first introduction to roguelikes! and though the controls were clunky and the mechanics underbaked, it was pretty rad how there was a shortcut inside the well that took you to like level 13 (of 16), but it was boss-gated by an extremely high level.... octopus? surely a challenge too great for any level 1 adventurers..... unless...... i stand in the upper left corner where the boss can't hit me and spam jump attacks with the spear........... :3c and that's how 15 year old zoe taught themselves to speed break :)
