Recording Audio For The Lore

I think audio recording is among the funnest, yet the most challenging parts of the lore-video-making-process.

On the one hand, I'm quite shy when it comes to public speaking. I think my shyness-induced-stress-levels  manifest themselves in my vids quite often, since I sound different in almost every video lol. (Actually, the variations in sound and pronunciation, is probably half shyness and half level of tiredness, since I do most of my recordings after work.)

On the other hand though, making audio for videos is fun. I can't explain why exactly... it just is!

The audio recording process can become a long one. Even a small video that lasts a few minutes can take over an hour.  To be honest, I never seem to be happy with the product. I always want to do better. Whether it's better text, better audio, better pronunciation, or just sounding better. Basically, I have to start over and over and over again after making corrections, whenever I record audio, which becomes time consuming.

Oftentimes, I notice imperfections during the editing process, but at this point I usually don't have the time or will to do more audio recordings, and let them slide lol.

Funnily enough, whenever I try to record, it seems someone starts mowing the lawn, using a leaf blower, flying planes, driving tractors, producing smoke signals which emit sound... all at the same time!

I watched some tips on YouTube on decreasing background noise. People suggest setting up office in your closet. That would be a good idea, if my closet was bigger. I mean, I would probably have to record lore standing up, in the dark, with the microphone in one hand, and the laptop in another, if I tried recording audio in my closet.

Well, that's about it, now you know some of the trials and tribulation Sinclair goes through as she records audio for lore :)

Thanks so much and I'll see you later!
