Unfilmable 35: The Cabin in the Woods

The Cabin in the Woods is a pretty important movie, and it's hard to talk about why without spoiling the best part. So this description will need to hem and haw around it. Some teens are headed to a remote cabin for a party weekend, but they don't know that they're walking right into an elaborate scenario coordinated by a shady organization. While the dialogue has a little bit of that Joss Whedon stink on it, we're really here for the plotting, the cool twists, and the legally-not-Cenobytes.

To the point that Gary made about what different cultures find scary (and his love of folk horror) you guys might wanna check out Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched, the folk horror documentary that came out recently. Now i haven't seen it yet, but i keep hearing that it not only talks about the origins of Folk Horror but also dives into other cultures examples of the genre and how they differ from western examples. I can't confirm this, but I also keep hearing how great it is in general.

Hellraiser 3 is fun and stupid and would be an entertaining movie to cover, but almost everything past that... good luck.

Best decision to randomly watch this in theaters without researching.
