2022-02-04 15:22:02 +0000 UTCMan, Gary’s speaking truth to power in this one (apart from the blip about Speed Racer, which is a legitimately good film!). My girlfriend at the time loved Fifth Element when it came out and she rented the VHS for us to watch, then preceded to watch me not hoot and holler over the ensuing 2 hours of weirdly drab pop-sci-fi. This was, of course, followed by my awkward and unnecessary teenage explanations of why I didn’t enjoy it whilst also desperately trying not to yuk her yum. Ugh. Excruciating memories.
