PSA: Early Release Problems and You

If you:
- Subscribed to the Early Release feed at the beginning of March when we first announced it...
- Using the "authorize on Fireside" method of putting your Patreon email into the form on duckfeedearlybird.com/subscribe...
- And you didn't change your subscription when the method of subscribing to the feed was announced...
- And you haven't seen any content on your version of the Early Release feed in a while...
Then you need to resubscribe to the Early Release feed using the most recent method. We've gotten messages from several folks who didn't see the previous update, and you can solve your Early Release woes by following the directions outlined here.
If your current feed requires a password, then you're good to go. You have the right one.
And to get ahead of other questions: The shows that will be on the Early Release feed are Abject Suffering, Days of Future Cast, Everything to Guppy, The Level, ORB, and the non-premium Watch Out for Fireballs! episodes. To get anything else that is premium (Bonfireside Chat, Adaptation Decay, Unfilmable, Exquisite Suffering, Duckfeed Presents...) just subscribe to the Private RSS feed that Patreon provides. Subscribing to both will give you every piece of content we release that you are entitled to based on your membership level.

Hi Emily. I'm sorry you're still having problems, and that you've had to put so much effort into trying to get the shows. If the feeds your having trouble with are the per-show feeds on Fireside, you may need to fall back to the Patreon RSS feed, which will have all of the premium stuff that's coming to you. I'm working with the Fireside people to figure out why some patrons are falling into a black hole of their auth system, and for right now there's no clear answer. If the feed you're having trouble with is the Early Release feed, that should no longer require you to submit your email for authorization, you can just use the username and password spelled out in the posts. If that's not working, I don't know why that would be. If it's another feed that's giving you problems, let me know specifically which it is and I will see if there's any kind of issue I can hunt down. - K

2022-03-19 17:48:14 +0000 UTCI'm so sorry to have to bring this up again, but I'm still unable to get authentication to work on these feeds. I've tried on multiple devices using multiple different podcast apps over multiple days. I've tried using my Patreon account email with and without the capitalization shown on my account page. I've even tried the manual download link. It simply won't authenticate. I wonder if there's anything else I can try?

2022-03-19 13:01:01 +0000 UTCTake a look at posts in the "How to Redeem Rewards" tag. We wanted to unclutter the premium feed so we offloaded Early Release onto its own thing. You can be subscribed to the Patreon Private RSS feed that you got for $5 to get all premium episodes, and subscribe to the Early Release feed to get the early versions of every non-premium thing. - K
