It crams the broad story of the first two Resident Evil games into a breathless mess that's goofy and entertaining, while wasting tons of opportunities to tell the best stories from the source material. But hey, at least it adapts the games.

I mostly kind've enjoyed this movie, it's better than I expected, but the scene where Ben Bertolucci dies angered me intensely, like why didn't he use the gun he stole from Leon to simply kill the zombie-in-progress that he's locked in with?

2022-05-27 11:17:39 +0000 UTCJudging from the incredibly toxic and loudest portion of the RE fandom, I had come to believe that I was alone in thinking that this movie was fun and allllmost good, certainly better than any of the PWSA entries. I guess this is a lesson to me not to use internet comments as a barometer for what normal people think about movies like this… Normal people probably are doing anything but harassing Capcom over Leon and Jill being actors of color anyways. Glad you folks found a lot of the same joys and eye rolls that I did in this!
