I’m so glad you posted the video for TD2192. I’ve been trying to figure out what game it was that I played at my friends house all those years ago.

2022-06-25 20:12:18 +0000 UTCI remember buying Def Jam for like 20 bucks as a Greatest Hits from a bargain bin. I 100% the game back then. Remember it being really easy or something that let me get though it. Maybe I spammed moves. Haven’t thought about that game in years.

2022-06-21 21:58:21 +0000 UTCIt was made by the team that made the old wwf wrestling nintendo 64 games. No Mercy was one that was amazing when i was a kid. The No Mercy cartridges had a huge problem of auto reseting the memory save. Fight for NYC was cool when I played it in high-school with friends. The Rappers winning taunts & blazing moves were pretty crazy at times. I think you guys would have fun with the quotes.

2022-06-21 17:55:35 +0000 UTCMisoginy aside, I remember Fight for NY being a solid game. I liked that it played like a wrestling game but with snappier moves and more satisfying finishers. Also, I think it was one of the first intances in videogames where your created avatar "acted" in cutscenes and was fully voiced, which was pretty novel at the time.

2022-06-21 08:25:17 +0000 UTCTo remind folks of the process for these: We pull them from a big database of listener suggestions. So we’re not saying Def Jam Fight for New York is bad, we’re passing on listener demand. - K

2022-06-18 18:28:28 +0000 UTCI kind of wanted it to be Knights Mandate but the Def Jam conversation is too good to pass on.
