Also because they are my favorite SM chapter! So this will be up soon - i will also do severel other tutorials for this miniature, fx the fire.  Hope you like it!

And thank you everyone for all those incredibly nice comments on my post earlier, it makes me so happy! :) :)

Thanks so much! I tried out the salamander cape today. Went reasonably well. Sorry, one last question, what set is that head from?

Alex Stevens

No worries Alex :) So the basecoat is a 1:1:1 mix of rhinox hide, mechanicus std grey & abaddon black. I then started added a bit more mechanicus std grey to this mix, moving more towards the area on the face where i want it to be brightest - so pretty much glazing in all the features by adding more & more of the grey paint. I then made a couple of highlights with a 1:1 mix of ivory & mechanicus std grey. And then shaded the darkest areas on the head with naggaroth night to give a bit of play. And thats it :) Oh and evil suns scarlet for the eyes.

A recipe for the skin would be fantastic :) thanks!

Thats great to hear Alex ! :) I also have the same way of learning - videos can be great, but sometimes pictures can tell even more, as you just freeze on one image, and take that step by step. Obviously its easier for me to pump out PDF's as there isnt as much editing as in a video - but i try to have a decent balance between posting videos & pdfs :) ! Sorry i didnt make a tutorial for the face as i already had it painted, but i can give you the recipe?

Can't wait :)

Awesome. Looking forward to it. I quite appreciate both PDF and videos (even if I’m this case the recipe is different). Being able to look at your clear photographs in the PDFs is a life saver and (for me at least) much easier to look at than pausing the videos. On the flip side, watching you paint is also extremely informative. It’s all good! Will you also be doing a tutorial on his skin?
