Constructive feedback time + painted miniature by me

Hey everyone - as i mentioned earlier this month, i would really like to get a constructive feedback from you as a Patron, in order for me to improve the content etc. here on my Patreon. As i am starting on miniature painting on a full time basis from the 1st of August, i am aiming to give you the best possible content for the future  - beause you deserve that, with your incredible support! As a "thank you", the Patron with the most in dept constructive feedback , will be rewarded with a painted miniature by me.

So the topics for the constructive feedback are:

- PDF tutorials

- Video tutorials

- Communication (my communication with you as a Patron)

- Discord Channel

- My Patreon Channel (Your general opinion about the Patreon as a whole)

What i would like to know about these different topics are:

- What works & why ?

- What doesnt work & why?

-  What would you like to be improved on the specifik topic?

As you know, a constructive feedback isnt about giving the most compliments - i would like your truly honest opinion - because thats the only way i can improve the different content on the Patreon, & thats the whole purpose of this constructive feedback.

So, please send me your constructive feedback to my email : mortensennikolas@yahoo.com, whenever you have time (its totally optional to give the feedback ofcourse!) - by the end of august / start september i will award the most in dept constructive feedback with a painted miniature by me - & if allowed, share some your thoughts here on the Patreon too.

Thank you for reading this everyone - i am really looking forward for your feedback, so we together can create the best possible patreon page - remember, your opinion matters (that sounded like a  political slogan..) ! :)

Take care everyone & ofcourse stay tuned for more tutorials!

Best regards Nikolas

Honestly the biggest thing for me is how to bridge the gap between Display to Tabletop, for example introducing airbrush to cut down on time on certain steps or how to apply some of the things you show for army painting

Really love your approach on explaning every single piece of painting a miniature. Although I really like the pdf's, I sometimes miss a video just to follow up and increase on my technical capabilities. Oh yeah and like once a year a project that could be a possible Golden Demon... Meaning a top quality mini with proper diorama with all your skills in 😊

I just sent my feedback. I think the oils (new techniques) and AoS (new games/miniatures), would be a great change‘‘.

Hello, I’m back as patreon after a short break. Concerning your tutorials, to be honest they are already nearly perfect 😊 and one of the best on patreon (that’s why I’m back). They are clear and β€œeasily” applicable to me. I made a lot of progress with them. The only things that maybe could be useful for us is to add a color disk with the initial list of required color just to help us to easily find something equivalent when we do not have a color in stock (currently I used a data base from an app but it always take a lot of time to do it). The point that could be improved (of course in my opinion) is the variety of your tutorials (That’s why I made a break as patreon). Maybe it will not be possible, but exploring other brand could be really great (bust, 54mm, tableboard game miniatures, dioramas, decor…). If not possible, just exploring more the AOS range would allow to have more variety (gloomspite gitz, nighthaunt, dwarf,…). Ha yes, I last thing, often you made different tutorials on a same minis, it could be nice to have the link of the previous one (I think you do it some times but not always), for example the Fabius Bile, it’s not easy to find all related tutorials and what you have done with this miniatures is just awesome (this is this one that convinced me to come back 😊).

Thanks for the feedback everyone already! I have received a bunch of feedback on my email that i am looking forward to look through :) I also appreciate your feedback here in the comments! :)

Hey Michael - Oh sorry i first saw this now. How does Google Forms work? Havent heard of it before. THe point of this feedback is definatly for people to put some words on what they like & dont like :)

Nikolas Mortensen

Hi - I love your tutorials. They're clear and concise. However, I think sometimes more variety in what your painting would be nice. I feel like a lot of your tutorials are for 40k specifically. I think doing more Age of Sigmar models would be really nice. Perhaps one week you could focus on 40k, then another week Age of Sigmar? Just a thought. It's entirely up to you. Also i've noticed sometimes you will do a tutorial for a model, but you never finish it - you will give a tutorial for a specific part for example your red rock troll. You did a tutorial for the skin, but i would have liked to see how you would paint the rock/gems they hold. Anyway that's my thoughts at the moment. I still think you have the best tutorials out there. Even if I don't paint marines, I think the techniques you use are still helpful. Thanks!

Feedback sent, bud!

I'm also curious -- do you feel like this approach is practical for a whole army? If not, how would you change your approach for army-painting?

Andrew Niekamp

All of you explanations are very detailed and easy to follow i would not change that a bit. I would rather like to see different techniques/styles of painting from you. For example: airbrush work cross hatching wet blending.....you get the idea. Although your style is impeccable changing it up will keep interest. Different size models as well along with maybe an easy how to kitbash this or that along with building display bases in all levels beginner to advanced. I do know alot of people struggle with cloth and skin and glow so maybe a focus on those 3 elements in the future. Oh!!! And eyes those buggers get me every time! I dont know if you build terrain but maybe so painting techniques from weathering and battle damage to painting a small road sign. Hope this helps get you gears turning!

Ody miniatures

I'd like to see your approach to basing. Various basing styles would be cool. I'd also like to see more on some of these models you're doing -- that Vargeist for example. What did you do with the fur?

Andrew Niekamp

Your pateon is the best I support for now, the technics are clear and easy to use with a good result, the only regrets for me is that there is too much nurgle/ primaris minis, I would like to see more others minis/ monsters / scenery for more variety. So more what you do now with lumineth, necron, vargheist.... I hope to see more stuff like that in the future because GW have a large range of beautiful minis and they are not all space marine or stormcast lol. Thanks for the job you done, It's great to improve our painting skills and your color choice are great.

Hey Nicolas, I think the most efficient way to collect the feedback would be through Google forms :) also you can add scale from 1 to 5 how useres review your content.

Sounds good!
