Textured purple cloak - Video tutorial (Read discrecption)

Hey everyone. Here is a new video tutorial, with better quality than my latest videos, but also a new approach. I have not added any audio description of the steps, but instead ive added text description of the different steps - by doing this, you avoid having to listen/view the whole video, but can either listen to your own music while viewing it, or go directly to the different steps, where the time slots are stated below. This is personally for me, the best/easiest way to learn from tutorials, so i wanted to give it a go myself. If you want to hear me describe some of my painting/brush techniques, i would recommend you to watch some of my latest 4-5 video tutorials. Ive added the reference photo for the cloak below, & dont forget to watch the video in 4k or HD.

Step 1 : 00:00

Step 2 : 1:59

Step 3 : 4:25

Step 4 : 8:27

Step 5 : 11:32

Step 6 : 19:40

Please let me know how you find the video & this new approach, & stay tuned for more tutorials soon !

Best regards Nikolas

Hey Will. Its actually a very good question - as ive chosen to have the main light angle from the center of the back, i would probably go for 2 light angles from each sides of the front - But normally, i would do this reversed - so one main light angle from the front & then 2 or 3 light angles from the sides & the center of the back . Another approach is to take photos of the model 360* all the way around ( about 8 photos ) & then choose 2-3 of these photos to have brighter highlights than the rest - just to make sure there is interest all the way around the model :)

How would you go about painting the parts of the cloak that aren't in the initial reference photo and how would you make them look like they fit? For example, how would you paint the cloak at the angle as if you are looking directly at the left hip. The top part would be highlighted, no? How would you make that new highlight on the left hip fit with the highlight at the top of the back side? I hope I explained that well enough 😂
