Scourge Lord – CCG Public Release

Once upon a time, there was a place of carved stone faces. Men and women lay sleeping a dreamless sleep. A woman is painfully jarred from her sleep. Instinctively, she flails her body, feeling something writhing beneath her. Panicking, she rubs the dried ink caked over her eyes, opening them for the first time.

Hundreds of tiny vermin scurry away as she breaks free from their grasp. Around her, she sees swarms of vermin carrying debris, a dead monster, and other people as they sleep. Grabbing a lantern from the moving debris, she rushes to aid the people like her. Freeing a man from his would-be harvesters, her soft hand reaches out to him, helping brush away the ink.

A musical composition fills them with feelings of great loss. The dreadful music awakes other people. The vermin begin to gather once again, growing larger right before their eyes.

Hello everyone, I’m Bra Mithra. I also created Curse, another CCG expansion. This time I bring a node 1 nemesis monster. One of the things I wanted to do with this expansion ensured that it would affect many aspects of your campaign.

The Scourge Lord expansion can be added to the Kingdom Death: Monster core game. It can act as both a direct Node 1 replacement, as well as a nemesis addition. My design intention was that this expansion adds as much as possible to your campaign. Scourge Lord features a new prologue, new innovations, a new principle, a new weapon type (with proficiency), a new intimacy table, and a new “savior” survivor type. All of the things are optional and supplemental. (That means it will not replace your campaign's intimacy table or principles, they are used alongside them!)

All of this is just the stuff you are expected to see every time you use Scourge Lord! But wait, there’s more! As mentioned, I created Curse, a long narrative branching path storyline. I understand that is not something that is for everyone, and I did not want to do that again this time. However, for those who enjoy that type of gameplay, a smaller version of Curse exists here as well. Secrets and Rare drops can be found in this expansion as well. Complete quests with survivors and have them gain special rewards. Perhaps a survivor in your settlement will find themselves taking some dark paths, losing an Eye and a Hand in the process. Have your settlement visited by an impossibly old Legendary Antelope. (How is it still alive??)
