The trailer was released during our recording day, so we decided to sit down and spend a few minutes collecting our thoughts on this multi-million dollar mass media product that is made for children and probably won't be very good. Because this is the kind of content we do now... ALL TAKES, ALL THE TIME.

2022-10-08 13:25:00 +0000 UTCI'm not gonna nitpick Mario lore, that would be madness, but he's always been an outsider right? I'm pretty sure he's never been from the Mushroom Kingdom. I don't know if that's something the Super Show started but it just seems like everyone ran with it since then.

The movie is going to look gorgeous because Nintendo has made a beautiful world for Mario and Illumination has the money to afford exceptional artists to make their movies. The writing is going to be frustrating but ultimately fine because that's the writing Illumination does. The actors that are going to put in the effort are going to elevate their characters and the ones who aren't won't. I'm basically looking forward to going into the theater, enjoying seeing the sights, and not being surprised by anything.
