Exquisite Suffering 153: Tarzan: Untamed

Tarzan: Untamed is a kiddie platformer that's not dissimilar to Crash Bandicoot, where the ape man declares war on all of Quebec. Neither Gary nor Kole can really tolerate a Tarzan. His story bores us. So instead, Gary torments Kole with the absolute dumbest fan theory that's ever cropped up on God's green Earth.

Shitting on Phil Collins and then going to bat for the music in Jungle Book and Robin Hood is very funny.

This was my first foray into Exquisite(Abject?) Suffering and I’m going to me honest… I didn’t realize how utterly hilariously amazing it would be. Thank you, I’ll be finding other episodes to cry-laugh to and I can’t wait. Also, I have thought that Baloo was the same bear in both movies for years and have compared it to Mark Walberg in movies, always the same character just different looks.

I gotta say, the opening credits to Robin Hood with the emphasis on the roles in the story being portrayed by various animals kinda adds some points in Gary's favor for me. The point Cory P made about Chip and Dale also adds to Gary's argument for me, too. Finally, two appearances (Jungle Book and Robin Hood) is a coincidence or one-off; three appearances (TaleSpin) is a pattern.

one of the most chaotic episodes in a long while. what the hell. i'm team kole on this one but thank you so much for making me laugh like an idiot at the gym

Kole is the best person to battle with Gary on this topic and he's barely hanging on. Yikes

Cinnamon Toast Cunt

A truly unhinged conversation. 10/10

As a kid I definitely thought it was the same bear in both movies. I think Gary is on to something

Chris Hudson

Chip and Dale are rescue rangers sometimes, and others they are just regular chipmunks in the woods.

Cory P

this is one of the funniest eps ive heard from yall

Bryn Nieboer

Hey guess who did the Disney’s Tarzan soundtrack AND was in Jeffrey Epstein’s blackbook

SomeCallMeStalin

I'm with Gary on this one

Bradley Morton

To throw fuel onto the Disney-fire, Bruce Reitherman voiced both Mowgli & Christopher Robin, two characters who also share physical animations. It's the same bear, it's the same boy.

Nicholas Robinson

The Troyzan thread is definitely a reference to Survivor. In Season 24 (One World), they cast a dude named Troyzan (the kind of guy who comes up with and insists on his own nickname). Troy imagined a rivalry with another cast member who was a guy with the natural nickname of Tarzan, who lived the gimmick without effort.
