2023-11-26 20:36:22 +0000 UTCoh as a quick correction (and this is in no way the fault of the Duckfeed folks for not having this info) the organization is no longer SpeedSouls. We now go by Souls Speedruns due to a very recent development with the owner of the Speedsouls name and the community at large. I’ve been a long time team member/close friends with many staffers. long story short, there was a major disagreement between the entire staff and the owner which lead to the entire staff “quitting” and establishing the community elsewhere. Everyone has migrated to the new name but it’s the same organization minus literally one person. All the Speedsouls stuff will not direct you to the resources the community has built over the past several years but luckily it’s all backed up and being rebuilt by the same community. @SoulsSpeedruns on Twitter is back under our control but the name has to be different. A real pain and extremely confusing but the community remains amazing and the staff are all great.

2023-11-26 18:40:05 +0000 UTCCata is great, as a person and as a runner and as a member of the Souls Speedrun Community. he is also a Dark Souls 1 legend who fell off running that (understandably) when Elden Ring runs started. He was the guy to beat before his hiatus from DS1 and has not run the new All Bosses route (which is wild and has reached sub 1 hour) but if he were to go back, it’s likely he’d give the top runners a lot of competition. also the z at the end of his name is because catalyst was a name he couldn’t get and it’s a nod to Czech iirc.
