Well damn, good to know. Thanks! 👍

Sam, just fyi - they did do a three-parter on the DeS remake

You mentioned speed runners but I think the No Hit Runners are also worth looking at.

I was having similar thoughts about Dark Souls Remastered! After playing through Elden Ring, I picked up the Dark Souls remaster on Switch. I've gone back and grabbed the older DS1 episodes from the public BSC feed, but it'd be nice if there was a primer for people new to Soulsborne and their ilk (re) introducing us to DS1. <3

Continuing on the conversation about post Elden Ring BSC, would it be feasible/ would you guys be interested in a sort of BSC remastered covering the Demon Souls remake? I feel like it could be in line with the very reason why it released in the first place; bringing this classic (and a classic BSC) to a wider audience and a higher quality.

The both have the vibe of “the DM knows all the players are in town for the holiday but didn’t have anything planned, so semi-cannon challenge boss”

Nothing like a trip down memory lane. Or in Lords of the Fallen's case a DEATHMARCH DOWN THE ROAD OF REMEBERANCE TO THE SOLARIUM OF INDOCTRINATION!

I'd have to clear my plans to replay the original a few times... -GB

I could see the Astel reuse if there was any kind of build up or correlation between the area and the second Astel. Instead, near a madness-pilled zone, there happen to be some random associations with the Alabaster/Onyx lords out of nowhere but only in the mine, right before we encounter an Astel for… some reason. It could work if the snowfields and/or the Haligtree were more related to the stars, but they have next to no connection at all. I’m not sure if I dislike this Astel or Godefroy worse. Godefroy probably just shouldn’t exist, but at least if I want to fight Godrick phase 1 again I don’t have to fight through an endgame mine to reach a confusing boss.

I am intrigued by the new Lords of the Fallen, if it ends up being good that would be a neat addition for Bonfireside Chat!

Something I really like from that there internet: https://x.com/_bibuo_/status/1690663534663962624?s=46 Really great artist account that draws a ton of wacky, stylized elden ring art! :)

I have no real problems with the end game and loved both the Snowfield and Haligtree/Elphael. What I don’t like? The occasional near zero visibility on the Snowfield and that damn rocket launching Mausoleum…
