I'm behind on these episodes, but I was also going to mention that there is a short stint in the Drizzt series that does directly deal with Szass Tam! The Neverwinter Saga from about a decade ago deals with a plot of Tam's and the Netherese opposition to it.

2024-01-28 00:39:53 +0000 UTCAnother way I got Shovel permanently is by having Gale learn the "summon cheeky quasit" spell from the spell scroll. Like paying the gold to learn it from the inventory menu. They are a perfect familiar to have permanently they are so funny.

The trilogy tells the story of how Szass Tam took over Thay around the end of 3.5, featuring an assortment of morally gray Thayans fighting the pitch black lich lord.

Regarding having your whole party blunder into a trap/ambush because you clicked too far ahead of them while moving over terrain - at any point you can right click on terrain to stop everyone in their tracks. As soon as I hear one of those barks, I right click immediately - it's saved me from more than one trap.

It basically makes most of the goblin encounters optional in Act 1. Instead of ambushing you or trying to make you smear shit on your face they treat you like you're going to steal their lunch money.

If you have all your characters in turn-based mode and then have a single character enter combat, the remaining characters leave turn based mode. This has caused me to lose buffs and things like that which only last for “x” turns. This is important when setting up for fights!

How much do you commit to your dialog choices and results? Do you ever reload to retry a conversation, or do you prefer to just see what happens when you seemingly choose wrong?

2024-01-22 04:22:21 +0000 UTCAwesome little pro tip: you can summon the ogres In the Grymforge! Not the crèche though. Some of the most useful fights are the githyanki in act one and the Grymforge I’ve found. Those fights are very hard on higher difficulties.
