2024-08-31 04:36:18 +0000 UTCSince the song didn't stop after I convinced Yurgir to kill his crew, my Warlock was able to convince Yurgir that *he* must be the remaining one who's heard the song. I didn't know about One-From-Many's role because this seemed like exactly the sort of thing Raphael would do. Once convinced, Yurgir rails against Raphael and stabs himself in the chest. Astarion's comment is basically, "Welp, I hope that counts as killing him." No disapproval.

I also was able to say. “That was great, have you thought about adding drums?” I did have him just kill himself. And you can still convince him to fight for you in the final battle. It’s a persuasion check though.

2024-08-26 07:51:22 +0000 UTCFun Yurgir fact: Bards have (I think?) unique dialogue options that let you lie to Yurgir and "figure out" that the loophole in his contract is that he needs to kill himself. He has a great moment of dialogue that basically boils down to "I swear if you're lying to me I'm gonna fucking get you for this" before plunging his sword into his own chest.

Re: the area denial section, I want to shout out Hunger of Hadar -- I just finished an Honour Mode run with a College of Lore bard and that spell was my absolute MVP. What distinguishes it for me is that it blinds everybody in it, so attacking them from outside has advantage. I did an archery build on Lae'zel, gave her all the crit gear so that with advantage every ranged attack into the Hadar zone had a nearly 60% crit chance, and stole like a hundred Arrows of Many Targets from Barcus, which crit everybody if it crits the first target. That, plus one level of Great Old One Warlock to proc frightened on crits, just melted every crowd we came across. Probably my favorite thing was doing it to Z'rell and friends during the Moonrise assault, after they took an entire night tormenting me with that spell on my first campaign. Highly recommend. :)
