I came here to the say same after watching LNwtF. My own objection is that is distractingly bad and immersion breaking. It's like when a prop falls over in an Ed Wood movie except it lacks all the charm.

2025-06-24 16:38:21 +0000 UTCCole railed pretty hard on the use of AI for Civil War ads, which he admitted to not even seeing at the time. Just saying. The issue I take with the use of AI here is that (for me) it diminishes how much truly thoughtful art and work is on display throughout this movie. I'm also not one for artists bending to the whim of public opinion, but for a genre with a such a massive and impassioned fan base, it's hard to argue they couldn't have found an affordable artist to create something wholly unique, and I think the defense of it falling into place with things feeling "off" is a reach at best.

2024-07-24 19:58:44 +0000 UTCIf you want another low-budget, lo-fi horror movie that tricked a few folks AND has a strange backstory, consider Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County (the remake, not the original, which goes by "UFO Abduction.") You'll never guess what it's about. Despite the jankiness of the production and some of the cornier aspects of the acting, I confess to having a soft spot for this, and I still find aspects of it genuinely unsettling.
