Unfilmable 67: Suitable Flesh

Intended to be Stuart Gordon's swan song, this Shudder original adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Thing at the Doorstep" ultimately feels mishandled and cheap. Find out why we're annoyed!

Ready for you to get serious and finally talk about Gremlins 2 being the best movie of all time

I learned about this from Red Letter Media I believe? Or maybe learned about this after I watched it, but to sum up what they said it "was supposed to be a Stuart Gordon movie but he passed away, was supposed to be his return to those kinds of movies like Reanimator, written by the same person who wrote those movies (Dennis Paoli)... but they described as "Stuart Gordon meets Brian DePalma", all extremely silly but played perfectly straight." Then all the stuff about Barbara Crampton who was in all those movies and did this one. All of that was probably infinitely more interesting to know than actually watching the movie (though I believe they said something along the lines of a it was either a love it or hate it among folks/critics talking about it).

Ngl I watched 10 min of this movie and dipped. Felt so low budget. Thanks for taking the bullet for us guys lol!

This had to be my horror movie disappointment of the year. So many places hyped it but it was just a whole lot of not good.

Miguel Duran

Insane flick

Nope, never. -GB

Hey, sorry for the off-topic question, but did you guys ever do an episode on ExistenZ? I swear I remember listening to it but looking through your back catalogue I'm not seeing it. Did I get you mixed up with someone else or did the episode get taken down?

Inter-Party Conflict

Of all the movies that have blurry shots of people convulsing and twitching, this was certainly one of them.

Thank God this episode is out so I can talk about the mind boggling decision to have Ephraim smoke a fake cigarette with CGI smoke. Maybe it was in the actorโ€™s contract that he wonโ€™t smoke? Just have him hold a smoldering cig! The CGI smoke rings that get blown twice in the movie (LITERALLY the last shot of the film) are SO distracting and add nothing to the story. Lmao I was so baffled.

It's always a good sign when the necronomicon is used for 'vibes' ๐Ÿ˜† this was on my watch list due to the Lovecraft ties, but I'm SO happy I listened to this as a service! Great ep, I can't wait till next months movie!! Happy early spooky month

Finished a rewatch of this about an hour before listening. I really liked the car reverse scene too but I was surprised that thereโ€™s no foreshadowing of that camera. You see that she has one of those screens on the dash in one scene but she never uses the camera before the kill
