Bonfireside Chat 301: Scadu Altus

This week we turn our attention to Scadu Altus, the region north of Castle Ensis which Messmer’s armies call their home. This region is less populated with notable landmarks than its non-shadow counterpart, but we end up finding something pretty important in the grisly fort where the Crusade executed those who failed it.

I've never told him to be sad forever, only killed him in battle and I don't think he does then? If so, neat! -GB

I saw a vague spoiler before getting the DLC that if you go to the "obvious path" you screw yourself out of NPC quests... so I went all over the Cerulean Coast and the mountains before going this way, which screwed me out of Igon's quest! He's not on the plateau or in the mountains for me, he's just gone. FeelsSadMan

I know this isn't relevant to anything discussed on this show for quite some time, but I wanted to share this about astel and the falling star beasts. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/bEVXYU9bHnrZpTrp/?mibextid=6GsUZ4

I believe he does, doesn't he? If you get to the dialogue option where you tell him to "Remain sad forever", you will find him dead as a forager brood next to the Church of Consolation with his armour set

Interestingly I came to that dragon fight and the forge from the entire opposite end of the map, having fought my way up through the Fort of Reprimand which I reached via a spiritspring. So this route feels strangely backwards to me

I was the one guy that you made ”so fucking angry” lmao. I definitely said “Hey!” out loud. I love One Piece.

Could be Scadu Altus is the new name placed on the area by the Erdtree invaders. Since the Scadutree is a product of the Erdtree, it wouldn’t make much sense for “Scadu Altus” to be what the Hornsent called it way back when

They don’t ever say Queelign’s name ingame do they? I started pronouncing it “kyeh-lehn” but…I think I might have just interpreted that myself?

Might be the latter. If he actually was one, he'd revert on death, I think. -GB

Not sure if anyone else felt this, but I got the impression that Ser Moore was either a kindred of rot like gowry or raised by them Tarzan style.
