I imagine you already know this, but we both fucking hate this shit. No one in America wants this, even the people who think they do. Whatever nationalist, racist memes and shit start making the rounds about Canada, Mexico or elsewhere, just rest assured that we love our neighbors to the north, south, and overseas.
Your job is survive, so survive. I hope you all endure long enough to see these vultures rot in hell.

As a Canadian, I hate this too, but I do find it funny that he keeps talking about us as the 51st state. We have about two million more people than California, so we'd immediately become the biggest electoral college vote. And we're decidedly further left than the US (between 60 and 70% of english canadians consistently vote for centre or left parties that are both to the left of US democrats, and that doesn't even include quebecois, which are socially even more left and prone to rebellion with a track record of getting what they want -- I don't speak/write French, but I have to fake it because my company is federally regulated and thus is bilingual) So, does he really want to add another state that will be solidly democrat? Does he really want to have direct evidence that universal health care is 100X better than what the US has, and is cheaper? But, like the first term, I just try to ignore his ramblings and hope he kicks the buck...er, um...hope this ends soon

The candidate has been using the same rhetoric as DT, and the new wave of nationalism caused by the trade war is making him look unpatriotic. This will suck for all of us, pretty much everywhere.
