Patreon is Adding Multi-Show Features
Added 2025-02-11 18:23:43 +0000 UTCHey folks! K here. I've got an exciting announcement: Patreon is adding the ability for creators to provide individual RSS feeds for multiple shows, and Duckfeed has been chosen to help test out the feature. I've been waiting for this feature for over a decade now, and have been struggling to hack one together for you during all of that time. For me, this is basically Christmas morning, a birthday, and a wedding day all wrapped up into one.
Here's the official boilerplate that they suggested I tell you:
“We’re partnering with Patreon on early access to a new multiple shows feature. This feature allows us to better organize and deliver our multiple podcasts to our listeners. Now, our listeners can subscribe to RSS feeds of whichever show you’re interested in. During this early access, if you experience any issues, please let us know so we can work with Patreon to resolve.“
Making this change will be a laborious process and it won't happen immediately. I'll be migrating shows off of the firehose feed and into their own individual feeds in reverse popularity order. You will need to subscribe to those shows when the change is made.
Unfortunately, there's no feature that combines all of the feeds into one for people who love the firehose, but I've already made the suggestion. I greatly prefer the more organized approach of separate feeds, but I want the choice to be there for you if possible.
The process for subscribing to the individual feeds is very intuitive, but once the migration is far enough along I will make a guide that walks you through each step so it's crystal clear.
This means that the individual Fireside feeds, with all of their authorization problems, will be going away. Hallelujah.
There are more features in the pipeline that will make this even better for everyone, but now isn't the time to talk about them.
I'll communicate as much as is reasonable during the process, and let you know when it's time to act. Thanks in advance for your patience. I'd say "I hope you're as excited for this as I am", but that would be impossible.

I haven't gotten any new podcasts in Podcast Addict since last week. I did try updating my URL to the current Duckfeed Premium but I had no luck. Anyone else having trouble?

2025-02-17 12:52:11 +0000 UTCHell yeeeeees! I enjoy all the shows on the firehose and can live with it, but individual feeds are so good when I'm just in the mood to binge old episodes of a particular show. Can't wait!

2025-02-12 00:48:58 +0000 UTCIn many podcast apps you can make a smart playlist that combines rss feeds. And make your own firehose that way.

2025-02-11 23:21:50 +0000 UTCI like the firehose, but it looks like demand for individual feeds is there. So I’ll play along.
