Surprised at the sugar you guys are putting on this. I also liked the acting and cinematography but something about the pacing in this movie left me and my gf kinda bored. There’s definitely highs but over all a C+ for me. I have seen the og and the 06 remake which is almost shot for shot. As a middle schooler that movie was effective on me back then, doubt it holds up much. Immaculate is worse than The First Omen unfortunately.

2025-02-11 16:50:27 +0000 UTCMy only Omen experience was the 2006 remake of the original, it's about as good as any early 2000s era remake (i.e. not), but as a teen getting into horror, The Omen (2006) and the 13 Ghosts remake hit the spot (that and the allure of ghost tit). Really enjoyed this one, and yeah the only downside was having to constrain itself with being a prequel. Can't wait for the sequel The Second Omen: The Girls Are Back in Town.

2025-01-22 19:41:13 +0000 UTCOMG the birthing scene was the most shocking thing I've seen in a horror movie in a while. Was pyched to see something that can still hit like that in a modern film. Otherwise I think First Omen is really pretty well done. It kinda ate Immaculate's lunch imo (everyone has favorite in that 1v1 I think), mostly because I'm not convinced Sydney Sweeny has any charisma at all.
