Great news regarding that Apple fee nonsense

We just got word that using the Patreon iPhone app to subscribe to creators will no longer add a 30% charge, and the money will no longer be held for 75 days. This is a result of an antitrust court ruling that didn’t go Apple’s way (hooray for antitrust regulation!).

Apple is appealing the ruling, but for now there is no difference between subscribing through the iPhone app and subscribing through the web interface. Honestly I would still say to use the website just to be safe (you can still get your content through the app if you’d like). But at least now there’s no longer a huge downside to paying through the App.
