I have to say that I've definitely heard of Meridian 59, and I audibly gasped when you brought it up. I've never heard someone reference it before

2025-03-29 04:42:15 +0000 UTCVery glad you covered this game :D This was one of my first videogames, and I played it when I was too young and dumb. English is also not my first language, so getting missions like «rescue a damsel in distress» and solving the weird code quests was challenging. Additionally a lot of the enemies were quite scary, I remember, especially the ghosts. I think it’s still a quite fun game on repeat playthroughs, once you know how to get the teleport and fly spells early. It’s a shame you cannot get all the relics on one save, as that could be a fun goal. I agree with you that they are spamming too many enemies, and that the best tactic is to do hit and runs. Still, a very charming game with a quite nice leveling system and lots of cool equipment.

2025-03-20 22:48:59 +0000 UTCWhat's wild to me is that I never played Might and Magic 6 but I did play a lot of 1-3, and so much of the weird stuff stands out as things I recognize from the 1st game. Names are often the same, sure (Sorpigal etc) but "unidentifiable shops that are just doors you go into", "using fly spell to evade combats," "the status effect eradicated", "characters getting to be 80 years old and dying in their sleep" are all things from the first 2 games and most are from 1. What a weird bunch of stuff to carry over!
