Universal Guard Winter Assault - Painting Guide

There’s been a lot of talk in my local scene about picking up Grimdark Future lately, and it’s got me thinking about what I’d play. While it’s unlikely I’ll get to paint up a full army anytime soon — especially with projects still lined up for my main game, Infinity — making these painting guides gives me an excuse to test out some ideas, like this concept for a winter-themed Guardsmen army.
The idea here was to use primarily cool and desaturated tones to create a cold, wintry atmosphere, with a punchy contrasting color for the visors as a focal point. For army painting, I’d swap all the NMM for TMM and probably start with Blue Grey for the armor, shading from there.
Anyway, this was just one of three army ideas I’ve been thinking about, the others being some variation of Blessed Sisters and demon-hunting space knights — so you can probably expect guides for those at some point.
