Favorite Studio Ghibli Movie?

As this holiday season and year come to a close, I can't help but think about all of my favorite wholesome movies. Of course, some that first come to mind include the various Studio Ghibli films I've grown up watching. They all have such a natural sense of wonder and joy that I feel is genuinely so special, and really can't be replicated. I think my favorite one has to be Spirited Away because it's the first one I remember seeing as a child, and even then, it moved me to tears.
I'd love to know: what is everyone's favorite Studio Ghibli movie and why?

Castle In The Sky. It wasn't my first Ghibli movie, but it's the one that's stuck with me the most.

2024-12-25 22:15:41 +0000 UTCSpirited Away would be my favourite. It's the first Ghibli movie I've ever seen and was probably the first proper film I'd watch from a completely different culture. I saw it when I was a teenager and it was also the first time I felt myself trying to actually engage and understand what was happening, why, and what message it was trying to give instead of dismissing it out of hand. For some reason it's just always stuck out to me as being quite important for helping foster my love of properly analyzing texts (I'm now an English teacher) and also for having a good message.

2024-12-25 22:02:25 +0000 UTCPrincess Mononoke is my favorite, I love it's environmental message but still how it keeps a hopeful outlook even for the characters that disagree with you. Combine that with the gorgeous animation and action and it's the complete package. Kiki's Delivery Service is a close second for it's heartwarming story.
